Hello, I have a 3 year old male Shiba Inu who has an issue with his paws. He licks the back right and the front left a lot, I have had his vet check the paws, there are no sores or hot spots, I think his paws are itchy. I have tried a Povidone soak, hydrocortisone spray, and a homeopathic salve, nothing seems to help - I would appreciate any ideas, someone suggested Benadryl, but I would like to stay away from drugs if at all possible. Would your Derma-Ionx provide some relief for him? Thanks for your time, take care, Lorna Helick

Dear Lorna,

DERMA-IONX is helpful for many skin conditions. It is an oral homeopathic product which stimulates the enzyme systems in the body that aids the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. What sets it apart from most homeopathics is that it is in an oligotherapeutic mineral base which has had a charge added to it.

Initially I would give a half dose of DERMA-IONX on the breakfast and supper food. After there are signs of improvement you can give a whole dose once a day. I would also give Probiotics to aid the immune system. OMEGA 3,6,9 is also helpful in soothing skin and improves coat quality.

Diet can also influence the skin. What do you feed your dog?

I would also have a veterinary chiropractor check your dog. A small amount of pressure on the nerves can cause tingling and excessive licking.

Please keep us updated so we can help guide you along the way.

Best regards,
