Health Questions & Answers

I have a beagle, a small terrier of some sort and terrier pitbull mix, all three have severe itching at the back just above their tail about 3-4 inches, we have ruled out fleas, we have changed their food. Right now I am using lancane spray on them to try and stop infections, I have also given them benedryl to help with itching, that helps but they sleep a lot. Help we are on a limited fixed income and do not have extra money, what else can I do for my babies? This itching problem has just started a few months ago. They are mostly indoor dogs, but they do have a fenced in back yard to play in and do their business in. They are all neutered.

Thank you

Dear Donna,

I would bathe them with our shampoo DefendeX. It will also cool irritated skin and provide relief. I would also give Derma-IonX orally and spray it on topically as needed. It will help with reducing the skin symptoms and stimulates healing. If you can give them a fish oil supplement that usually helps reduce itchiness, too. Please let us know how this works for you.
