My dog has really irritated skin all over; he is always scratching and looks very uncomfortable. Is there anything I can do at home to help? Is my dog in pain? Can any of these skin rashes be fatal?

Dear Pat,

What does your veterinarian think your dog's skin condition is caused by? Sometimes skin problems are caused by an internal disease. It would be a good idea to have your dog checked over just in case if the skin problem is caused by thyroid or adrenal problems. These could be serious if left untreated. That said, most pets that have used Derma-IonX have responded nicely and gotten relief. It helps to reduce inflammation and allows the skin to heal. However, if there is another cause such as fleas or mange, that would need to be addressed if you want to achieve true healing.

Please let us know a few more details and we can work on this as a team.

Best wishes,
Dr. Char
