Health Questions & Answers

My Dalmatian is 12 and the past 3 weeks, at night only, she has been crying a lot, wants outside just to get out her doing this all night. The vet said few months ago that her spine is twisting; she is eating and playing okay but just at night staring at the wall or looking through me. Is she in pain? I’m so heart broken.

Dear Pauline,

Many older dogs seem to cry and are restless at night. You might ask your veterinarian about a product called Geri-Form that contains choline and B vitamins to help the nerves. Our product Promaxol might offer pain relief if there is pain; sometimes lying in one position for a long time at night is uncomfortable. Promaxol is a good product to have in the medicine cabinet because it offers many kinds of relief without undesirable side-effects. I hope you will find a solution soon.

It's no secret dogs love to eat, and as they age, they tend to add a little weight (it happened to me, too!). I've always been told that if you can adjust your dogs diet (without depriving them of the pleasure of eating), the weight loss will help tremendously.
