My dog has yeast in between her toes and pads. Nothing that the vet has prescribed seems to help. She is currently on an anti-fingal and a doggie benedryl. I am wondering if Derma-IonX is a good relief for her feet, while we are trying to figure out what she is allergic to?

Dear Susan,

DERMA-IONX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which aids the skin to heal and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. I would start with a half dose twice daily with breakfast and supper.

I like to take a holistic approach and give some additional supplements. The supplements I use along with it include probiotics and Omega 3,6,9. These supplements together with DERMA-IONX can produce a synergistic response. Healing the gut is essential to working on allergies. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride.

For the dietary modifications you might want to try feeding cooling foods according to Chinese food therapy. Fish and turkey are considered to be cooling. Chicken and lamb are warming and would best be avoided for now. Of course if your dog has a food sensitivity do not give that food.

When you need to bathe your dog I would use DEFENDEX shampoo. The essential oils in it are very helpful.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,
