My 14 yr old Aussie/Beagle rescue has had recurring UTIs her whole life most likely due to an underdeveloped & tucked anatomy from an early spay by the rescue group. Its always ecoli, she is has had infections without any symptoms (just checking urine at an annual checkup and found infection - no increased urination, accidents, etc.). She gets Urinary Resources supplements daily. Someone mentioned D-Mannos specifically targets and binds ecoli to flush from the urinary tract. The stress of infection and antiobiotics along with aging and arthritis - just looking for alternatives or additional supplements that could help. Her vet did not have much info on DMannos. I don't see a UTI related supplement here. Any ideas are appreciated.

Dear Amy,

I use D-mannose for UTIs. It makes it harder for the bacteria to adhere to the wall of the bladder. You might also try PROMAXOL for a little while since it contains a homeopathic remedy that I have found helpful for bladder infections. In addition giving a probiotic helps to reduce the likelihood of getting another infection. Probiotics should be given whenever an antibiotic is given and for several months afterwards. I also recommend Omega 3,6,9 to reduce inflammation in the tissues. Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,
