My 4 1/2 yr old Yorkie was diagnosed with diabetes, and up until last week, we were walking faithfully every day, and he had lost weight, and had lots of energy, and a good appetite, with the usual drinking and peeing alot. I wasn't able to walk with him this past week, and it seemed to effect him, he has lost his energy and appetite, and very restless. how effective is this medicine, and will it have to be given to him forever?

Dear Robin,

Exercise helps move glucose from the blood into the muscles so it helps to lower the excess in the blood. This seems to be important for your dog. Are you giving your dog insulin and are you asking if you will need to give insulin or DIA-IONX forever? Are you considering trying DIA-IONX? What kind of food, supplements, and water do you give? If you are not giving insulin and your dog is restless it would be wise to take him to an emergency clinic today.

Best regards,
