Health Questions & Answers

My 13.5 year old Lab has been on Arthro-IonX to good effect for some months for stiffness and arthritis in his hips and back legs. However, just this week the stiffness has returned slightly. Yesterday I gave him two doses and plan to do that again today. There is already improvement. What is the difference between Promaxol and Arthro-IonX? They seem to have very similar ingredients. Thanks very much in advance.

Dear Annette,

PROMAXOL is ARTHRO-IONX plus the LM potencies of each of the individual ingredients. If a condition is severe I start with PROMAXOL and then switch over to ARTHRO-IONX for maintenance. For either one, initially I give a half dose twice daily on the breakfast and supper meals. If you need to you can give one or two additional half doses as needed. With improvement I switch to a whole dose once a day.

I would also give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 to strengthen the body and reduce in inflammation. What kind of food, supplements, and water are you giving?

It might be helpful to have your dog evaluated by a veterinary chiropractor. Proper alignment of the hips makes a positive difference in better movement. Looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
