After having such good success using Dia-IonX with our diabetic kitty, Tux, we started his sister, Sox, on Arthro-IonX for her 15 year old joints. Though Sox never drinks Tux's "magic water", he alternates between the Dia-IonX and the Arthro-IonX. Even though the water bowls are in different rooms I can see Tux working at deciding which water he wants and then heading to the room with the correct water bowl. What puzzles me is that even though we have not changed his diet (he gets high protein, low carb (less than 2%)) his blood glucose is now high (+400) and I am having to increase his insulin to try and control it. Is there any chance that the Arthro-IonX is elevating Tux's blood glucose levels? Thanks.

Dear Pari,

Maybe Tux is not getting enough DIA-IONX. I prefer to add it to the canned food. That way the intended recipient usually gets their whole dose. I would try adding a half dose to the breakfast and supper food to see if it helps to lower the glucose levels. Is Tux getting any dry food?

It would be interesting to continue to add ARTHRO-IONX to Sox's water and no DIA-IONX to Tux's water. Watch to see if Tux prefers hers. After that you could try adding ARTHRO-IONX to Sox's food.

Please lets us know what happens in regards to Tux with each change.
Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
