Dear Jason,

The easiest choice is to feed the prescription food that your veterinarian sells. Giving supplements and the prescription food might help improve your dog to the point where your dog needs little insulin and will be able to switch to a grain free food.

DIA-IONX is usually given along with insulin. I would suggest you try DIA-IONX because it helps to control the symptoms of diabetes and it's therapeutic mineral base helps activate the enzyme systems in the body that help with healing. Some owners have told us it has helped stabilize the blood glucose levels. The dose I start with is a half dose twice per day on the breakfast and supper food. In addition I like to give probiotics, MSM, and Omega 3,6,9 daily. DIA-IONX will help the body better utilize the other supplements for a synergistic response. In addition make sure that you offer water free of chlorine and flouride.

A regular exercise schedule is also helpful in moving glucose from the blood and into the muscles which will reduce the blood glucose. It is important that you monitor the blood or urine glucose levels so that you will know if you need to talk to your veterinarian about adjusting the insulin dose.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
