My male cat is diabetic. He is about 12 years old. He has been on Pro Zinc insulin for about 2 years. He would not eat the diabetic food. He has had oral surgery and a lot of bad teeth removed. Before we rescued him he had been hit by a car and had his bottom jaw wired. We had the wire removed and his teeth were in bad shape. We recently started feeding him an all protein can food (about 3 weeks). He has 1/2 of 1 unit twice a day of insulin. I would like to be able to stop using the insulin. I will order the Dia-ionx and wanted to know if I should stop the insulin while trying to transition him?
