My 4 yr. old male german shepherd has been having skin problems for about 4 months. He was shedding and scratching all the time. We started bathing him in medicated shampoo and giving him omega 3-6-9. this has helped some and his coat is growing back (his chest/belly was almost bare) but it's not as healthy as it should be and shedding is still a problem. Lately he drings a lot of water and his bed is always wet because he pees himself and has a strong smell. I think he may have diabetes. what do you think?

Dear Richard,

Your dog might have diabetes but probably has a urinary tract infection. If you bring a freshly caught urine sample to your veterinarian to have it checked. they can tell you if there is an infection or diabetes. Please let us know what you find out and we can help you with some holistic options to improve the situation.

Best regards,
