Health Questions & Answers

Hi I am a disabled L.V.N. & need help with my precious Baby, my dog. She has diabetes I am sure and I am trying to get out to get some test strips. But right now all I can do is beg for help for I do not have he money for a vet and my last 14 year old Princess had CHF & the vet actually made me torture her putting pills down her and she could not get enough O2 and besides she had huge doses of Lasix and no k+ added, She died that same weekend and it was torturous to watch with no way for her to get O2 and the torture of me believing putting those pills down her and the fear and fight she had in her face. Well, I know she has diabetes because years ago I treated one Lhaso with same thing. I am trying to give her only meats right now and do not know how much carbs or if any. I have stopped some pee but not enough she is standing, walking, and always so hungry. Can you please help me? I need to get insuln as soon as I see how much insulin she needs. If I get back to you, would you please help me? Should I give probiotics? Should I give some carbs? PLEASE CALL AND I WILL PAY SOMETHING TO YOU . THESE VETS ENDS END UP WITH A $300.00 BILL EVERY TIME I GO!

Dear Margaret,

It is important to know what you are dealing with. If it is kidney failure you would not want to use high amounts of protein. For diabetes a low carbohydrate and a high fiber diet is used. Ask if you can bring a urine sample to your veterinarian so they can check for glucose, infection, or kidney failure. DIA-IONX will help if there is diabetes or kidney failure. If there is an infection either alone or with diabetes it would need to be treated as soon as possible. I would also give probiotics and OMEGA 3,6,9.

Please let us know the urine test results.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
