My 9 year old Labrador retriever has diabetes. I need to find some cheaper food to feed him. Can I cook food for him? He takes 20 ml of insulin 2X per day.

Dear Darlene,

You may cook for your dog but you will need to talk to your veterinarian so that you keep the ratios correct. Plus the insulin requirement might change and so your veterinarian needs to be prepared to assist you. Have you tried DIA-IONX? Some pets have been able to reduce their insulin dosage using it. I also encourage owners to also give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 for a synergistic effect.

Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,
