I just ordered a bottle of Dia-IonX. How do I know how much to give my two Chihuahuas? Angel gets 4 units of insulin if she eats & 2 units if she doesn't . DJ gets 2 units of insulin if he eats & 1 unit if he doesn't . I know I give the Dia-IonX with the insulin. But is there a chance later on I will be able just to give them just the Dia-IonX ? They both get insulin 2 times a day. I have tried all of the diabetic dog food , dry and can, but they hate it. I have also tried the RD from the vet. What other kind of can or dry can I try? I ask my vet if I could cook some chicken for them and they said no it would be bad for them. I also asked my vet about pills or liquid drops that people take if I could give them to my dogs. They said they don't work on dogs. The Humulin N is costing me $117.00 a bottle .There is a generic form of the same at Wal-Mart that people take, but they won't let me use it & it only cost $36.00 a bottle. I have told them all about Dia-IonX and they don't believe in it. I am going to show it to them and tell them I am going to give it to my dogs. With everything that I read I believe in Dia-IonX. So please when you get some time could you e-mail me back and answer my questions for me. Thank You, Connie

Dear Connie,

I would start with 20 drops of Dia-IonX twice daily on their breakfast and supper.

Dr. Martin Goldstein in his book, "The Nature of Animal Healing" recommends 50% carbohydrates (brown rice, millet, buckwheat, rye); 25% chopped and steamed vegetables; and 25% protein such as egg yolks, organic beef, steamed fish, or organic chicken. Be sure to test the urine daily in case if the blood sugar level changes and you need to adjust the insulin dose.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
