My 15 year old cat Ming did extremely well for Dia-IonX for 3 months. He was tested 115 - 130 and insulin free for about 3 months. Then the BG started going up 185, then 240, 307 and now over 500. He's back on Lantus at 5 units twice a day. I thought the Dia-IonX may be defective. I changed to a new bottle, with no effect. Is there a possibility that the Dia-IonX may be tainted and lost its efficency? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you, Bee

Dear Bee,

I doubt if the product is defective. Where have you stored the extra bottles? What have you been feeding and giving as treats lately? Have there been changes in your household? Has your cat been given any vaccinations or other medications? Has your vet checked the urine or blood, and teeth for evidence of infection?

Best regards,
