Health Questions & Answers

I have a 2-1/2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was just diagnosed with diabetes today. The vet has put him on insulin twice a day. His blood sugar is 389. I am wondering if this product can help him so he can gradually cut down on the insulin. He seems so young to get this. I want him to have a good life and want to keep him healthy as long as I can. Thank you.

Dear Kathleen,

Dia-IonX has helped many diabetic pets. It helps to reduce the symptoms of diabetes and stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which promotes healing. In addition, it is helpful to give digestive enzymes with each meal, and probiotics, MSM, and a fish oil supplement daily. Dia-IonX will help the body to utilize the supplements better. Be sure to feed only wholesome foods and treats that are consistent with a diabetic diet. Regular moderate exercise is helpful in getting blood sugar into the muscles thereby reducing amount of sugar in the blood. If the insulin produced by body becomes more functional, your dosage will be too high and you will need to be watchful for signs of low blood sugar (weakness or shakiness). Have honey or Karo syrup on hand in case if the blood sugar dips too low and you need to bring it up quickly. Contact your veterinarian for help in determining an appropriate insulin dose for the new lower need.

Please let us know how you progress and if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,
Dr. Char
