My Sheba will be 12 years Nov 1, She has lost a lot of muscle mass, panting even when she is just waking up. She went to the vet & they said because of her white blood count it was a intestinal virus, She has had two episodes now that make her sleep alot, moving very slow, then she comes out of it in a few day's. The Vet did X-rays & blood work, all they came up with was the intestinal virus. Could my sweet baby girl have Diabetes??

Dear Stacy,

Your dog would have an elevated blood glucose if she has diabetes. Ask your veterinarian what her blood sugar was when they ran the blood tests. If it was out of normal range they should tell you.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
