Our dog Lill recently started having problems with getting up from a laying down position and sitting position. It seems to be uncomfortable for her to walk. Could it be a back problem or Lyme disease? Also, what can I do to help? I have been giving her 1 teaspoon of children's Tylenol.

Dear Connie,

It could be any of those things. I would not give Tylenol, aspirin would be safer. It would be good to take her to your veterinarian for an x-ray to rule out arthritis or a disc problem and get a diagnosis. Arthro-IonX can help with painful symptoms because it helps to reduce inflammation. Arthro-IonX also helps the body to better utilize food and other supplements and stimulates healing. These are the things that usually benefit painful dogs. Give digestive enzymes with each meal, and probiotics, MSM, and a fish oil supplement daily. Together with Arthro-IonX there is a synergistic effect. This is much safer than using Tylenol or other NSAIDS. After you find out what is going on, please let me know and I would be happy to make some other suggestions that would help that particular condition. For now try to keep her on leash walks to prevent running and don't let her jump. In case if she has a disc problem we wouldn't want her to create further injury.
