My five-year-old cat has chronic constipation. He is on 5 mg of the cisapride two times daily and three or 4 cc's of lactulose twice daily. Is there anything more natural that will work as well and which would save me lots of money. I cannot afford $60 per month.

Dear June,

You could try the homeopathic H2O-IONX in the water or added to the food to aid digestion. PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 are also very helpful in improving the intestinal tract. These products are available from Vetionx. I would start with the first three products and then if you need more help than that, you could add in Vetasyl Fiber Tablets for cats which you might be able to get online or from your veterinarian.

Please let us know how your cat responds so we can help guide you.

Best regards,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
