Health Questions & Answers

Hi, my chihuahua is 7 years old and has very bad skin problem the last 3 years. Her skin is scalpy, itchy, she chewed on herself so bad that last July she had surgery to remove most of her tail. She spins a lot trying to get to the itchy part of her body. I have spent a lot of money on vet visits, but after prednisone, antibiotic, ointment, tests, the problem is still there. I also find that antibiotic does not work anymore. Do you think I could try your product on her?

Dear Amy,

You might want to look at some of our products to help heal the skin. DERMA-IONX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include MSM, vitamin C, probiotics and Omega 3,6,9. Together with DERMA-IONX it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might want to try a grain free diet for a while. I would try either turkey, fish, or beef as the protein source if not allergic to it since they are not as heat producing as chicken or lamb according to Chinese food therapy.

DEFENDEX shampoo which is nontoxic washes away debris and soothes the skin. Using these products can help to improve the skin and coat condition.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions. Please keep us updated and we can help guide you.

Best wishes,
