At times he sits by the furnture trying to touch her and howling, the female just growls, when they come together the Aby goes into protect mood, by swatting the M, the M wants to get close, but F is on guard, Purchased Anxietrex recieved last week how long will produce take effect. I don't want to change cats, just getting stressed out right now. Ther are times when they rest it peacefull, but in seperate rooms, Please help me find a solution.

Thank you, Angela

Dear Angela,

In addition to the Anxietrex I would also use a pheromone product called Feliway. It would be good to get the situation scaled back a bit before a lot of bad feelings develop. When cats need to get used to each other I put the new one in a large crate for a while and let the established cats come over and sniff. Then later I give them supervised contact time. After that they can be together but I would separate them in different rooms when no one is home. You could also try feeding the Aby and the Tonk a cooling fish-based diet for a month to help reduce the emotions if there are no contraindications for such a diet.

Please let me know what happens.

Best regards,
Dr. Char
