Health Questions & Answers

I have a three year old cat in great health and eating but she has pulled out or bitten all of her hair out on the back of her. I changed litter and went back to previous one thinking she might be allergic. What home remidies can I try to get her to stop grooming so much. She would be impossible to take to the vet she is not good with other people at all and I believe that would really stress her out big time.

Dear Catherine,

DERMA-IONX has been helpful in many cases of dermatitis. With cats it is wise for the cat's stool to be checked for parasites, so you might want to do this if it hasn't been done recently. I also give probiotics and Omega 3,6,9 along with DERMA-IONX. As for dosing DERMA-IONX, I prefer to add 10 drops onto some canned food twice daily at breakfast and supper. Together it works well together to reduce inflammation and stimulate healing. Food also plays a role in skin health. What do you feed your cat?

Best regards,

Dr. Char
