My cat, Miss Marple, has been eating Purina NF for years which, as you know, is only available through a vet clinic. Are there other options for kidney food? Anything available just in stores?

Dear Rose Marie,

Another option for phosphate binding is Epakitin by Vetoquinol. Probiotics can reduce the azotemia. DIA-IONX contains homeopathic remedies that support the kidneys. The Vetionx website contains the ingredient listing if you are interested. If you need further explanation please let me know or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
