Took in stray - has bad allergy, scratching, tearing out hair, open sores about the face and neck. Vet tried Prendisone and Zyrtec -- but it's still bad. She jumps at shadow boxes on walls, doors, etc. She sneezes and drools and messes up everything. She hides in her litter pan 24/7 unless I bring her down to clean her up and offer food. It's been 3 months and I'm at my wits end. Any suggestions?

Dear Marianne,

You might want to try DERMA-IONX. I would add 10 drops to the breakfast and supper wet food. I would also give probiotics and Omega 3,6,9. This can aid the immmune system and reduce inflammation. Also check for any evidence of fleas (dark specks in the coat). Even one flea can start an allergic reaction. Also find out when the last tapeworming had been done. The presence of tapeworms can cause a lot of skin symptoms.

What kind of food are you giving? I would use a grain free food that is turkey or fish based. In Chinese food therapy these would be more cooling choices.

There might also be a psychologicl component that might need to be addressed depending upon what results you get from doing the above.

Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,
