My cat has diabetes. I give him the Dia-IonX already. He has had a twitch (neuropathy?) which causes him to shutter with his head. He has had this for about 5 years. Is this caused from nerve damage from diabetes? If so, what other medicine from your website can I give him to relieve this? He also seems to be walking gingerly. He is 18 years old.

Dear Stacy,

The twitching can also be caused by pressure on the nerves. I would try PROMAXOL which might help that and make his movement more comfortable. Another product I use is Geri-Form which is a choline/ B vitamin supplement that nourishes the nerves. I use that for older pets. Omega 3,6,9 would also be beneficial. In addition Probiotics aid the body making it's own B vitamins. I would also find a veterinary chiropractor. Older pets often benefit from an adjustment. Movement is more streamlined if everything is in the correct position.

Hope these suggestions prove to be beneficial for your kitty.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
