My dog has had diabetes for about 3 years and he has always been on insulin for that time at varying dosages, his insulin reading have been all over the board usually in the 400 range in the am and under 100 at night. he has just been diagnosed with kidney failure. I am not sure how long he has and the Vet wants to start him on the Hills, K/D diet. My questions is will your product hurt or help hurt the quality of life my dog has left? Thanks.

Dear Mike,

Dia-IonX is usually helpful because it contains homeopathic remedies to support the kidneys. Along with giving insulin I would suggest you try Dia-IonX because it helps to control the symptoms of diabetes and it's therapeutic mineral base helps activate the enzyme systems in the body that help with healing. In addition I would give digestive enzymes with each meal, Canine probiotics, and Omega 3,6,9 daily. Dia-IonX will help the body better utilize the other supplements for a faster response. This can help to minimize the load on the kidneys. In addition make sure that you offer sufficient water free of chlorine and fluoride.

It is important that you monitor the blood glucose levels so that you can ask your veterinarian about adjusting the insulin dosage if necessary.

Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
