Health Questions & Answers

My boyfriend and I have a black lab that has a little bit of Husky in her. Her name is Sadie and we found a big blister on her right hip, it looks like a tick but it’s too cold for them. There is skin around the bottom of the blister, the skin on the blister is thin and it’s filled with something, not quite sure what, but if you could get back to me that would be awesome.

Dear Miranda,

What you described might be a wart, but it would be advisable to take Sadie in a little early this year for her spring check-up and have your veterinarian look at it to make sure it is not an external parasite and at the same time he or she can do a heartworm check and fecal analysis to make sure there are no internal parasites which could compromise the immune system. Depending upon what you find out, you might want to try our Derma-IonX which helps with a variety of skin conditions working from the inside out or by spraying it on topically helping to heal the skin. It is easy to use being liquid and easily absorbed. Please let us know what happens.

Best wishes,
Dr. Char
