Hello, my Weimaraner is 11 yrs old and weighs 83 lbs. She's limping and her hips appear to be stiff. The vet prescribed Previcox 227 mg, Tramadol 50 mg, and Gabapentin 100 mg. I would like to replace these meds with something natural and would like advice on the best IONX product for her condition. Thank you for your time. Shelly

Dear Shelly,

You may use ARTHRO-IONX or PROMAXOL to help with symptoms of hip dysplasia. I usually start with PROMAXOl because it has the addition of the LM potencies, but you can start with either.

To dose the homeopathic I would split the dose and give a half dose with breakfast and a half dose with supper. With improvement you can switch to the whole dose once a day. In addition I would give PROBIOTICS, vitamin C, OMEGA 3,6,9 and MSM. What kind of water and food do you give your dog? These can influence joint health too.

When you are able to, I would recommend having a veterinary chiropractor check your dog. It often improves movement. Acupuncture can also be helpful. As you see improvement ask your veterinarian about decreasing the dosages of the drugs.

Please let us know how you do.

Best wishes,
