My 5 years male beagle is scratching all over his body. This year it does not have hair loss and sores (last year had hair loss). The scratching starts in August and lasts till October and we assume that the pollen from Ambrosia is the cause but we don't know for sure. The only thing that calms him down is Medrol (metilprednisolonum) witch is a corticosteroid medicine. I don't want to give this medicine to my dog because it is very toxic for the liver if given on long term. Please tell me what product should I give to my dog? Do you know other dog with this simptoms? Oh, and I must tell you that the dog has sometimes light episodes of epilepsy (also we don't know for sure if it is epilepsy). Thanks very much.
