I am about to buy Derma-Ionx if this helps. I have a sweet female shitz tsu who has been just scratching herself and over grooming ,chewing etc on her paws, licking her stomach and rear area. She has gone to the vet several times. 3 different types of antibiotics and a histomine pill all for 3 weeks, she is ending week two. Next step is a dermatologist, which we can't afford. She is on a grain free diet now w/ omega 3's in it. reputable brand. She has lost hair around her eyes, stomach and on her sides where she scratches, also base of her tail and gen. area all bald and pinkish red. At one point it was bright red after wipes and creams. she has lost weight and her skin on her stomach is red and wrinkled. Please help. Bloodwork is OK. We are out of options and want her to heal.

DERMA-IONX has been helpful for a variety of different skin conditions. DERMA-IONX is an oral homeopathic product which stimulates the enzyme systems in the body that aid the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. What sets it apart from most homeopathics is that it is in an oligotherapeutic mineral base which has had a charge added to it.

Initially I would give a half dose of DERMA-IONX on the breakfast and supper food. After there are signs of improvement you can give a whole dose once a day. I would also give PROBIOTICS to aid digestion and extra OMEGA 3,6,9 to help moisturize the skin and coat.

The water you give should be filtered if it contains chlorine. Chlorine is not good for the intestinal flora. Diet can also influence the skin. Sometimes the flavor even makes a difference. Please read the label to check what proteins are in your food. When there are skin problems I usually choose a grain free food that uses fish or turkey as the protein source when the skin is very warm. If she is allergic to a protein do not use it. I would avoid chicken, lamb, and venison which are considered to be warming foods according to Chinese food therapy.

Any food changes need to be phased in gradually, starting with a little new food added to the regular food. It takes 4-6 weeks on just the new food to see if it will make a difference.
