My vet diagnosed my dog with a yeast infection and then said it was bacteria dermatitis. She prescribed prednisone and an antibiotic--she is still very red and has sores and is constantly itching. Will this product help?

Dear Sherry,

There are a few products to consider that can help the skin condition. DERMA-IONX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which aids the skin to heal and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. I would start with a half dose twice daily with breakfast and supper.

I like to take a holistic approach and give some additional supplements. The supplements I use along with it include probiotics and Omega 3,6,9. These supplements together with DERMA-IONX can produce a synergistic response. Healing the gut is essential to working on strengthening the immune system. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride.

For the dietary modifications you might want to try feeding cooling foods according to Chinese food therapy. Fish and turkey are considered to be cooling. Chicken and lamb are warming and would best be avoided in the summer months. Of course if your dog has a food sensitivity do not give that food.

When you need to bathe your dog I would use DEFENDEX shampoo. The essential oils in it are very helpful.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
