Health Questions & Answers

I have recently taken our service dog to the vets regarding his arthritis. He is a yellow lab & german shepherd mix, weighing 99 lbs. We currently have him on a weight mamagement dog food product call R/D & Omaga 3's. Our Vet read the ingredients on the Artho-IonX bottle we purchased from Vetionx. Vet said wasn't familiar with the product and that the Cosequin product lines were the only brand proven to be safe, effective, and bioavailable in a published controlled studies and that there are also "generics" less costly that may provide benefit. So questions?; is Arthro-IonX "proven" to be safe, effective, and bioavailable? Were they in a published controlled study? How does your product stack-up to Dasuquin with MSM? Is your product considered on of the "generics" that are effective?

Dear Gayle,

These two products are not the same. Dasuquin is a physical substance. ARTHRO-IONX is a homeopathic in an oligotherapeutic mineral base with an added charge added to the solution. The remedies in the Vetionx homeopathics were chosen based upon their ability to modify the symptoms an stimulate internal modifications that lead to healing. Having it in homeopathic form makes it safer than most prescription drugs that need to be under the supervision of a doctor. Though homeopathy isn't used as much in the United States, over half of veterinarians in Europe use homeopathy alongside conventional therapy. It can offer some help in cases where more options are needed. For more information about the individual ingredients and the history of homeopathy, the website is a great educational tool.

The product is registered with the FDA and meets the United States Pharmacopeia standards. For a better understanding of this you may go to

Because homeopathy is patient specific one must match the symptoms of the patient to the remedy. The remedies selected in our product address the more common symptoms.Because these are OTC ingredients and not prescription items there is no requirement for years of drug trials. That explains why most prescription drugs are much more costly than OTC products that are formulated based upon common knowledge garnered over the past two hundred years. We use this information to select the ingredients and rely on our customer feedback to let us know if we are doing a good job and meeting their needs. The IONX products have helped many pets reduce their symptoms without causing toxicity to their bodies. ARTHRO-IONX can be used along with other physical joint supplements such as Dasuquin. ARTHRO-IONX helps with better utilization of the other supplements.
