Can Arthro-IonX cause constipation or heart problems. Zsazsa is 13, 7 pounds. She has calcium crystals in her gallbladder and also has a heart murmer, and her arthritis on her elbows and starting of hip-dysplasia. She started Arthro-IonX 3 days ago. She also has been started on Renavast 1 month ago by her vet, who also wanted to give her pain medicine for her arthritis, but I want to try this first. I also don't want to put her through a surgery. It's only been 3 days taking Arthro-IonX, so haven't seen any changes. Her pain got worse about 1 month ago, around her hips and she's either constipated, or can't push very hard because it's painful on her hips. How long could this take to help her? Should I give her pain medicine?

Dear Mia,

I would hold off on the pain medication for a bit. According to Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine a poorly functioning liver increases arthritis symptoms and places stress on the heart. Pharmaceutical medications are metabolized in the liver, which makes the liver work harder. Try to encourage your cat to drink more. What kind of water does she get? What kind of food do you give her? I would also give her PROBIOTICS and a little coconut oil orally to help make it easier to pass stool. OMEGA 3,6,9 can also help reduce inflammation. How are you dosing the ARTHRO-IONX?

In addition I would check if there is veterinary acupuncture or chiropractic in your area. Helping reduce energy stagnation reduces pain and improves function.
