My 11 year old German Shephard is suffering from arthritis. I have been giving him Joint Max for some time but recently he hurt his left front leg and has had a really hard time walking. For now I have been giving him aspirin for the pain and my vet has prescribed Previcox. I have not started him on this medication yet. I would like to go a holistic route. When I asked my vet about you product she said: "it appears this medicine is one of those that they put such a small amount of each thing in it (basically the essence) that there really are no active ingredients. The first ingredient Actea Spicata is a highly cardiotoxic plant. The second ingredient is a horse chestnut which can also be toxic, The Arnica Montana is a good anti-inflammatory and has shown good effect on arthritis pain however, it should be used as an ointment because ingestion of it can be toxic. I didn't look up the rest of the ingredients. At best the mixture contains such small quantities of these things that it wouldn't hurt him, but won't help either." I would still be interested in trying your product since I have had experience with conventional doctors not giving credit to holistic approaches. I have read some of your testimonials and it seems that others have responded with quick results. I was thinking about starting out with the pain management product. What do you recommend?

Thank you! And I hope your product works!

Dear Karen,

You can give Previcox along with Arthro-IonX if necessary to keep your dog comfortable. As the pain and stiffness decrease you would want to decrease the dosage of Previcox because it is harder on the liver and kidneys than a homeopathic. Arthro-IonX usually starts to minimize the painful symptoms fairly quickly but it takes a while to get the body to heal and repair its tissues. The oligo-therapeutic mineral base makes the IonX products unique and effective. They help stimulate the enzyme systems in the body involved with healing. The homeopathic ingredients are minute quantities of substances that have shown to be effective for the more common symptoms associated with arthritis and musculoskeletal disease. Homeopathy is hard to explain but can be effective if the correct remedy is given. In Europe homeopathic prescribing along with conventional drugs is quite common. In addition to Arthro-IonX I would suggest a few other things. Give digestive enzymes with each meal, and daily give probiotics, a fish oil supplement, MSM, and a choline supplement such as Geri-Form (this helps the nerves to the hind quarters and it can be obtained from veterinarians) This is a lot, so introduce it gradually. I find that Arthro-IonX helps the body better utilize the other supplements for a synergistic effect. It is important to keep the large breed dogs strong since helping them move isn't easy.

Please let us know how you do and if you have any other questions
