I have an italian greyhound, about 10 lbs. she is hardly able to use her hind legs; it came on pretty quickly. I give her chondroitin and glucosamin liquid in her food; i started with 81 mg. aspirin, enteric coated, yesterday; She will try to walk, but her rear legs don't seem to work. If she falls down, she cannot get up; She is between 12-15 yrs; sharp and beautiful; eats well and her kidneys and bowels seem to be good. what should I do, and will this VETiONX work? how long will it take to show effects;??

Dear Peter,

You may use Arthro-IonX along with other medications or supplements. It is homeopathic in nature and so it will not negatively interact with other physical substances. So you can use it with an NSAID if necessary, but usually you can decrease the NSAID or get off of it more quickly. Healing takes more time than just suppressing symptoms. Arthro-IonX helps to stimulate healing. Usually some improvement is seen within a few days to a few weeks. But in the worst cases I would allow a few months. In addition I find it helpful to follow a holistic approach by giving some nutritional supplements to accompany Arthro-IonX. The supplements I recommend are Canine Probiotics, MSM, Vitamin C, and Omega 3,6,9. Arthro-IonX will help the body to better utilize the nutrition for a synergistic response.

I would also look into Veterinary chiropractic or acupuncture. This can get the energy moving better again. Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions. I am here to help you each step along the way.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
