Health Questions & Answers

We have a 7 year old Sieberian Husky. She is on phenobarbatal for seizures. At first we thought that the medication was the cause of her problem but now we think it's arthritis. She hardly moves and can barely get up. It's now to the point where she actually falls down while she is using the bathroom. Is this product safe for her to take while she's on this medication? And do you think arthritis is the cause or our we overlooking something. We have her on joint relief chewables now that we get from a pet store but it's not working anymore. Thanks Joe

Dear Joseph,

It is OK to use our homeopathics along with phenobarbital. I would try PROMAXOL to help healing to begin. PROMAXOL would be a good choice for your dog because it contains the stronger LM potencies. After improvement is seen then you can switch over to ARTHRO-IONX. In addition it is helpful to give Canine Probiotics with each meal, Omega 3,6,9, MSM, and vitamin C daily. (We carry the first two and the other two you can get at a health food store.) In addition I would also get a Choline/B vitamin supplement such as Geri-Form to support the nerves. The oligotherapeutic mineral base found in the IONX products helps the body to better utilize the other nutritional substances given for a synergistic response and faster healing. Also be sure to give sufficient fresh water that is free of chlorine and fluoride. If you can gradually phase into a grain free diet that can be helpful too. What do you feed? The other thing that is sometimes beneficial is to have a certified veterinary chiropractor check for spinal alignment and make any corrections as necessary. Proper spinal alignment can help reduce stress on the hips and help with seizures.

Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
