Health Questions & Answers

We have a two year old Great Dane. He is very excited when he sees other dogs and people outside. He is very fearful to go anywhere outside our apartment. He does not like to let anyone touch his paws to do his nails and we are looking for a budget friendly dog food wet and dry. Any ideas?

Dear Debra,

ANXIETREX might help your dog with his anxiety. It can be added to the food or water bowl for a few weeks. If added to the food I would start with a half dose twice daily for a week, then a whole dose once daily for a little while, and then as necessary. I would also give a CHILL-OUT CHEW before leaving when he will be seeing other people or pets. In addition I would also give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 with meals. Better gut health can positively affect behavior. Diet can also play a role too. What do you currently feed your dog and give as treats? I like the Costco Kirkland Premium brands? Does your dog have any allergies? This would affect your choice of food. I would probably choose Salmon or Turkey to start if there is no allergy to them. I would choose a different protein than what he has been eating lately.

I would also get some homeopathic Thuja 30C from the health food store and give 2 pellets each evening at bedtime for a few weeks. This might be helpful in allowing ANXIETREX to work more fully.

Please keep us updated so we can help guide you.
