My cocker spaniel tore his ACL about a year ago. He had the surgery, but he is STILL hoping on his 3 legs, he won't put that back leg down and I've taken him to the bet numerous times, they can't seem to find anything wrong with him....I think it's his age, because he's 9 years old this year and I belive arthritis has set in...is there anything I can give him to help with the arthritis? I ordered some stuff for it, but I want to make sure it's the right stuff...that's all and if it will in-fact 'work' for him. Just want him to have some relief. That's all.

Dear Yulanda,

I would try either ARTHRO-IONX or PROMAXOL to decrease pain and inflammation. Initially I like to split the dose and give a half dose with breakfast and half with supper. I would also give OMEGA 3,6,9 to reduce inflammation. It is also helpful to give PROBIOTICS to improve digestion. 80% of dogs that damage one ACL will damage the other. So it is important to make some changes preventatively. It might help to have a consultation with a veterinary chiropractor since he has had to compensate for some time.

Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,
