Our 9.5 yr old Shih Tzu has had severe black skin, terrible with smell, we have tried every single thing known to man and vet alike to no avail, no carpets in house wash her every 2 days in special shampoo. The vet has no solutions. She has had this since a baby.

Dear Rosie,

Make sure the blood work also included a Thyroid profile. I would do all the things I mentioned in the other email. While you are doing the other things make sure you are feeding a grain free diet that uses fish or turkey as the protein source. You need to avoid lamb, chicken, venison, and beef at this time. If you know an ingredient in the food is a known allergen, do not give that food.

Please keep us updated so we can help guide you.

Best regards,
