Health Questions & Answers

16 year old  Chow Llapso Mix has developed a head like twitch, jerk movement leg flutter - not seizures - but like a muscle nerve spams. Spells. He's on Gabapentin, Trimadal, Quellen and getting adequan shots. Doing much better. Vet says it's do to age, arthritis and back being to fuse. Would this VETIONX product replace some or all of those drugs? Your thoughts.

Dear Phil,

You can give either PROMAXOL or ARTHRO-IONX. If a condition is severe I start with PROMAXOL and then switch over to ARTHRO-IONX for maintenance. For either one, initially I give a half dose twice daily on the breakfast and supper meals. If you need to you can give one or two additional half doses as needed. With improvement I switch to a whole dose once a day. It is best if you give the homeopathic away from the drugs so the body has time to focus on just the homeopathic before being asked to respond to the drugs. As you begin to see some improvement you can ask your veternarian about reducing the drugs. After a while the stress placed on the liver from the drugs can actually add to the symptoms, so the goal is to use the smallest drug dose possible.

I would also give PROBIOTICS and OMEGA 3,6,9 to strengthen the body and reduce inflammation. I also use a Choline/ B vitamin product called Cholodin to nourish the nerves of older pets. What kind of food, supplements, and water are you giving? These factors make a difference.

It might be helpful to have your dog evaluated by a veterinary chiropractor. Proper alignment of the hips makes a positive difference in better movement. Acupuncture can also help.

If your dog needs assistance in getting up and down, a harness with a handle is invaluable. It can help protect both you and your dog. Looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
