Hello my name is Jack. Our two dogs have scabies mange and the vet gave us some chemical stuff to wash them with, but I think they're still itching. I believe we got them on us too. So I was wondering if I purchase this shampoo, Defendex, how often do I need to wash the dogs to get rid of mange? And what should we do about us? The mange may be on the floor, carpet, or other areas of the house, so does that mean we need to wash the dogs every few days or something like that and get rid of all of them? Thanks for your help.

Dear Jack,

This is what we usually advise for mange. I would bathe with Defendex shampoo once or twice weekly for 4-6 weeks or a couple of weeks past having a negative skin scraping. I would also use Derma-IonX to heal and soothe the skin as well as rebuilding the immune system. Giving Canine probiotics, vitamin C, and Omega 3,6,9 will all help in that goal. Derma-IonX also helps the body to better utilize the supplements for faster results. I would start with a 1/2 dose of Derma-IonX twice a day on the food.

For yourself you should call your doctor about the best treatments options. You can also use the shampoo to wash your dog's bedding. Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
