Hi my name is Jessi, I have a 11 month old Lab cross Mastiff (we think, he's a rescue pup) named Moose. When Moose was 6 months old he got hit by a car, breaking his pelvis in 5 stops, fracturing his left femur down the middle, as well as breaking the "head" off that left femur. We rushed him to the emergency vet and, with crossed fingers, we opted for the vet to reattach the "head", hoping the blood vessels were still connected- along with a screw to hold the femur together and pins to hold his pelvis together. Its been 5 months and he is 99% back to normal, showing signs of soreness after playing- but only some days. I've noticed the last week his right leg seems to be doing weird things when he walks and Im terrified this massive puppy (34kg or 75lbs) has over used his right leg while healing and has caused problems. Moose was only 20kg/45lbs when he got hit 5 months ago so Im not sure if its just him growing and looking like a goofy, over sized pup, but I thought I might as well give him his best shot at a normal life and help him out if I can. While he was recovering I upped his protein with lots of raw, lean, kangaroo meat, gave him protein enriched rice milk, gave him all natural yogurt for probiotics, as well as giving him Comfrey to help heal the bones- I should mention that since we got Moose at 5 weeks old (his Mum was put down with 8, 5 week old pups) we have been feeding him all natural, big dog puppy food called Nurto Natural Choice. Now Im looking for something to help this growing pup and hopefully steer far away from any other joint problems. PLEASE help! Sorry about the novel, better to know too much then too little :) Kind regards, Jessi

Dear Jessi,

Arthro-IonX helps to re-balance and stimulate healing. In addition I find it helpful to follow a holistic approach by giving some nutritional supplements to accompany Arthro-IonX. The supplements I recommend are Canine Probiotics, MSM, Vitamin C, and Omega 3,6,9. Arthro-IonX will help the body to better utilize the nutrition for a synergistic response. Because of the history of trauma I would suggest a consultation with a veterinary chiropractor. Any misalignment can cause wear on the joints and poor function of nerves. Acupuncture can also be valuable.

Please let us know how you progress or if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
