1 week ago I gave my Yorkie Trifexis, and he vomited, and wouldn't move. He just slept, won't eat, blood in stool. Low blood sugar. Lost over half weight in 3 days. What can I do other than give him his Metronidazole, Neomycin and Sulfadimethoxine. He was in the hospital 2 1/2 days, and is still not good. I am force feeding baby food mixed with Pedylite but he won't take much and still vomits. Please help -Kathy-

Dear Kathy,

I would try Canine Probiotics. The beneficial bacteria can be very helpful for diarrhea. You might want to ask your veterinarian about reducing the amount of antibiotics. Antibiotics can destroy the gut flora and can cause gas and a bad feeling. Sulfadimethoxine might still be necessary to address the Coccidia, but the other two might have done what was necessary by this time. I would also give our homeopathic, H2O-IonX to soothe the intestinal tract. Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,

Dr. Char
