My 18 month old min schnauzer scratches a lot, and has been for last 5 months. No sign of skin issue. Our vet put her on prednestolone and a half of a 5mg tablet stopped the itch. The vet is reluctant to keep prescribing the tablet and wants to do tests which are costly. Just wondering if your product might help.

Dear Sandra,

You might want to look at some of our products to help reduce the itching. DERMA-IONX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include probiotics, MSM, vitamin C, and Omega 3,6,9. Together with DERMA-IONX it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might want to try a grain free diet for a while.

DEFENDEX shampoo which is nontoxic washes away debris and soothes the skin. However since it is very concentrated you would only need to use a tiny amount. Using these products can help to resolve a difficult condition.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
