My 12 year old dog has been diagnosed with a benign liver tumor (1 yr ago). Every few weeks she pants almost continuously for several days (also pants with mouth closed?). Eats, drinks, urinates, etc. normally. Vet indicates that tumor could be pressing on diaphragm --> panting. Does this sound reasonable?

Dear Bernie,

It is a possible reason for the panting. However older dogs also pant. I would try the homeopathic DIA-IONX to help the liver. I would also give probiotics and Omega 3,6,9 to reduce inflammation. Another thing you could try would be acupuncture which might positively influence the amount of panting that occurs.

Please let us know how you do.

Best regards,
