Hello. I have a Bassett Hound with skin problems. I tried EVERYTHING, special shampoo, Benadryl, sprays, you name it. He's got a liver problem, so have to be careful what I give him. Poor guy just scratches and scratches. No open sores, no patchy skin areas. Is this safe for dogs with liver problems?

Dear Laurie,

You might want to look at some of our products to help heal the skin. Derma-IonX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include Canine probiotics, vitamin C, and Omega 3,6,9. Together with Derma-IonX it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. All of these are safe if there is a liver problem. I would however introduce it gradually. Only one new thing every other day. For the Derma-IonX I would give a half dose on the breakfast food and a half dose on the supper food. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might want to try a grain free diet for a while.

Using these products is a simple and effective way of helping resolve a difficult condition. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char www.vetionx.com
