Dear Margaret,

You might want to look at some of our products to help reduce skin symptoms. DERMA-IONX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include probiotics, MSM, vitamin C, and Omega 3,6,9. Together with DERMA-IONX it produces a synergistic effect. I would also suggest that you give your dog only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride. For the dietary modifications you might consider switching food for a while. If the skin is quite warm it would be better to feed cooling foods according to Chinese food therapy. Fish and turkey are considered to be cooling. Beef is neutral. Chicken and lamb are warming and would best be avoided in the summer months. Of course if your dog has a food sensitivity do not give that food.

Also try to wipe his paws off after being out on the grass in case he has developed a grass allergy. Please check periodically for any signs of fleas. Even one flea can cause an allergic response that can last a long time.

Sometimes the only thing you might find are little dark specks (flea debris) in the fur.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,
