Health Questions & Answers

Hello, We have 3 cats and a dog. About a year ago we switched to a all raw diet due to one of our cats having health issues and not wanting to go with medicated dry pet food. They have been doing well on this diet, but we noticed with the weather change to colder weather that our dog and one of our cats is getting dry itchy skin near the tail area. We checked for fleas and there are no fleas on them. We are wondering if there is something that we should add to the raw diet to help them with their skin. The only problem we have is that we can't use fish oil because one of our cats had a UTI and they said that fish oil is the major cause for that. We have tried coconut oil but its too thick and the cats just eat around it.

Dear Andre,

You might want to look at some of our products to help heal the skin. Derma-IonX which is an oral homeopathic product stimulates the enzyme systems in the body which reduces itching and inflammation, promotes healing of the skin and helps with assimilation of nutritional components in diet and supplements. The supplements I use along with it include probiotics and digestive enzymes. Together with Derma-IonX it produces a synergistic effect for a faster response. I would also suggest that you give your pets only filtered water for drinking and bathing if your water contains chlorine or fluoride.

Using these products is a simple way of helping improve skin health. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

Best wishes,

Dr. Char
