I am looking at the Dia-Ionx as a helpful supplement for Audrey. She has never been on insulin. She was diagnosed Feb. 2013-- she is on a grain-free can diet & was stable till late September when she started to drink more again -- as well as getting thinner. Will the Dia-IonX alone be helpful? The video mentioned too low blood sugar -- Can that occur if Audrey was on Dia-IonX as the sole 'medication'? I am very concerned about diabetic shock. Audrey is about 16-17 yrs. old --She was robust till the diagnoses. Almost OK until mid- September she is weaker and thinner, but right now, still mobile enough to jump on a chair.

Dear Gila,

You do not need to worry about driving the blood sugar level too low if you are not using insulin. Dia-IonX will not cause that to happen, it just allows the body to be better able to make more functional insulin. If you haven't had a urine sample checked lately you might want to do that and also check the teeth. Infection anywhere in the body can cause the blood sugar levels to rise.

Please let us know how you do.
